What if yoga wasn’t something you simply followed…
but something you learned to practice for yourself?
Many of us approach yoga by attending a class, or following a video online, as a sequence of poses or instructions to follow.
And in most classes, we’re instructed to all do the same set of poses…
And that’s fine !
But here’s something to consider:
~you most likely don’t need the exact same poses as the person next to you..
You are a different person, with a different body, with different life experiences.. right!..
So here’s what can happen when we’re just following the crowd:
Sometimes we push more than we should…
Sometimes we override the signals to slow down…
Sometimes, we actually need to move more, but don’t (or can’t)
And often, our practice reflects our stress patterns without us even realizing.
This 6-week series invites you to explore a different relationship with yoga —
one based on awareness, responsiveness, and curiosity.
One based on what it is that is happening in your body and mind on your mat..
At the level of the nervous system…
Together , over the 6 weeks,
we will explore:
How to recognize what different states feel like in the body and mind
Recognize the state of your nervous system each time you come to the mat
• How yoga can influence your nervous system state
• How your nervous system state can influence the way you practiceLearn how to practice according to the state you’re beginning from
• How to develop a more responsive, self-informed practice
Through asana, breath, pranayama, and meditation, you’ll begin to move beyond “doing yoga” —
and instead learn to listen to your own experience and respond accordingly…
Your practice, this practice,
is not about doing more…or less…
It’s about noticing more…NOT less…
